When Jess finally manages to escape the ship, she wakes up on a beach and rushes home. There, she witnesses her past self being emotionally and physically abusive toward her autistic son, Tommy. Out of rage and guilt, the "escaped" Jess kills her abusive past self, packs the body into a car trunk, and drives away with Tommy.
