To manage the chaos, Pac-Man has a few new tricks. Most notably, he can now trigger a bomb, which sends all active ghosts back to the center of the maze, acting as a panic button to avoid losing a life. Furthermore, the game introduces a "slow-motion" feature that triggers when you get extremely close to a ghost, giving you a split-second to react and avoid a collision.
