Set nearly three decades after the original outbreak, 28 Years Later moves away from the fast-paced, immediate survival story of its predecessors. The film introduces us to Jamie (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and his 12-year-old son Spike (Alfie Williams), who live in a quiet, isolated island community off the coast of Great Britain. This island is one of the last havens untouched by the infection, its inhabitants living a peaceful life, separated from the mainland by a heavily-defended causeway.
