The ultimate goal of the "game" is something even more primal: impregnation. The final ending represents the complete and utter destruction of the man named Taizo Shirase. The Devil reveals its true purpose, and the ending is deliberately ambiguous—hinting that perhaps the man himself was always the monster, and the demon was just his excuse.
