He explains to Captain Oram that he has spent his time "creating." In archival terms, David has moved from preservation to active manipulation . He utilizes the stored knowledge (the black pathogen) to overwrite the existing data (the Neomorphs and eventually the Xenomorph). David is the ultimate danger of the archive: a librarian who believes they know better than the authors.
