Focus on the irony of modern software saving ancient hardware.

Navigate to the tab to enable infrared dust removal if your hardware supports it. Under the Color tab, set the color balance to "Auto Levels" or load your custom IT8 ICC profile. Define your output directory in the Output tab, selecting TIFF for archival preservation or searchable PDF for text documents.

If your hardware supports it, VueScan can use the infrared channel to automatically remove dust and scratches (Digital ICE equivalent).

The software excels at document archiving and photo restoration. It includes specialized algorithms that target common film and paper defects. Converts scanned text into searchable PDFs.

Pools flatbed scans into a single file.

The designation of this release as "x86/x64" highlights its versatility. It ensures that the software is compatible with both older 32-bit systems (x86), which are still prevalent in legacy corporate environments, and modern 64-bit systems (x64) that can utilize greater memory resources for high-resolution image processing. This dual-compatibility is crucial for professional workflows where large format scanning—such as digitizing 35mm film slides or medium format negatives—requires significant RAM allocation to handle massive file sizes without crashing.
