Performance on the Switch is remarkably stable. The game targets a smooth 60 frames per second, even during intense Greater Rifts where the screen is filled with dozens of enemies and flashy spell effects. While the resolution scales dynamically to maintain that frame rate, the art style holds up beautifully on the small screen.
Early Switch versions of Diablo 3 suffered from frame drops during 4-player Greater Rifts. Updates have optimized the graphical renderer, especially in handheld mode. A fully updated NSP runs at a rock-solid 60 FPS in dungeons, dipping only slightly during massive Necromancer corpse-explosion chains.
