The movie follows the story of John Bennett (played by Mark Wahlberg), a 39-year-old man who wishes his beloved teddy bear, Ted (voiced by Seth MacFarlane), would come to life. To his surprise, Ted does come to life, and the two friends are reunited. However, their friendship is put to the test when a corrupt politician, Adam McKay (played by Jack McBrayer), tries to ban Ted from being around children.
