It reads the unique hardware ID of a standard MicroSD card inserted into an Android phone.

The SD card is transferred to a PC. Users clear everything off the card except for the newly generated SdCard.key file. They then copy official map data files (such as Ford's F8, F10, or A12 North America map packs) onto the card.
