Modern Windows versions block unsigned, legacy drivers to protect system stability.
Inside the TVR 2.5 application interface, click the icon (the gear or wrench symbol).
Windows 10 64-bit requires all kernel-mode drivers to be digitally signed by Microsoft. The original Honestech drivers from 2005–2009 use old (or no) signatures. Even if you extract the driver files, Windows 10 will block them with an error: “The hash of the file is not present in the specified catalog file” or “Driver is not intended for this platform.”
Once the hardware connection is established via the driver, you must alter how Windows executes the Honestech TVR application executable.
If you genuinely need to digitize analog video on Windows 10 64-bit, The stress of driver hacking, crashes, and dropped frames is not worth the $15 you might save.
If the driver fails to install with an error about a digital signature, you must disable this feature temporarily.
